TRANSFORMING THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Woodies is a custom shirt company that delivers a fully personalized shopping experience, allowing a customer to design a shirt to his specifications (i.e., sizing, cut, and fabric). A major pain point for purchasing custom clothing online is ensuring that the customer enters his correct measurements. As founder Jacob Wood observed, “the majority of guys aren’t familiar with a tape measurer and don’t have the time to take their measurements.”

By integrating ShapeX into Woodies’ website, customers now only have to know their height, weight, chest, and waist measurements. With these few datapoints, BodyKit builds a body model — a 3D rendition of the customer’s body — from which all of their remaining shirt measurements can be extracted. The ShapeX widget also provides real-time 3D visualization of the customer’s body. That is, as the customer enters in his body measurements, the body changes in real time. This interactive visual keeps customers engaged on the site for longer and provides insurance against user error.

MATCHING TESTERS WITH PRODUCTS 

Mesh01 helps brands thrive by delivering innovation and strategic analysis for consumer products in the areas of design, testing, and marketing. With their large community of designers and testers, Mesh01 provides a platform for brands — their customers — to test and improve their products.

A key component of the product-testing platform is Mesh01’s community of testers, who are selected by brands via their interests/professions and a list of body metrics. However, Mesh01 was struggling to capture all of their testers’ necessary body measurements. By integrating BodyKit into their website, Mesh01 is able to capture testers’ precise 3D body models and a complete set of body measurements. This information can be leveraged to find the correct testers for specific product sizes.

TRULY CUSTOM CLOTHING: CREATE A SHIRT INSPIRED BY YOU

Original Stitch provides its customers with the perfect-fitting shirts. These shirts, made on-demand in Japan, can also be customized with many variations of patterns and details  — a billion shirt design combinations are possible.

While the design options are endless, full-body sizing is also key to a proper fit. By integrating BodyKit’s API into their site, Original Stitch instantly receives a full set of a customer’s measurements from the sole inputs of height and weight. As a result, a shirt can be cut and tailored to better fit the customer, and the customer dropoff usually experienced during the prompt to enter measurements is reduced. In addition, the API’s easy integration enabled Original Stitch to retain their site’s look and feel.
