July 19, 2017 Body Labs Releases SOMA Shape API for Apparel and E-Commerce Developers
New API enables apparel and e-commerce developers to integrate single-image 3D body shape prediction into web and mobile shopping experiences
NEW YORK — JULY 19, 2017 — Body Labs (www.bodylabs.com), provider of the world’s most advanced technology for analyzing 3D human shape and motion, announced today the release of the SOMA Shape API. The SOMA Shape API will empower brands and developers to build next-generation web and mobile shopping experiences centered around their customer’s body shape.
With the SOMA Shape API, third-party software or applications can easily connect to SOMA’s backend server. This empowers applications to easily submit a single photo, height, weight, and gender to SOMA and receive a predicted 3D model (mesh) and digital measurements of the subject in return.

SOMA uses artificial intelligence, trained using body data and computer vision to accurately analyze a single photo of a subject to identify key landmarks, predict a full 3D model, and extract digital measurements.
